Our students all began their PE classes with Coach E and Coach O’Brien. Even our youngest TK students were deeply engaged in their warm-ups. Students in kinder through 6th grade began trimester specials in either STEM, Art, Library Technology, or Mindfulness & Movement. Because we are a specialty school, we are especially fortunate to provide this extra enrichment to our students.

It was incredible to welcome families back to our first, in person College and Crew Celebration this year. Our Crew spirit sparked joy and excitement for all.

Student leadership also returned with our Safety Patrol Students taking an active role in keeping our school community safe. This next week more programs return to our site. Make sure to read the full Weekly Family Communication and hear about Dance Crew, Running Club, and Lunch Leagues led by Coach E. In addition, our Band program also returns for our 4th - 6th grade students. Band applications will go home on Tuesday and will be due 9/1/22.

Media Release

Every day, Conway students are learning and creating in innovative ways, and we are eager to share this work with the community and our national audience as an Expeditionary School via our new website and enhanced social media presence. As a reminder, a media release for your student is collected at the time of registration, with the option of opting out. No student personal information or identification is ever shared when we are showcasing students engaged in our programs. You may contact our front office if you would like to update your child’s media release status. We appreciate you letting us share their smiles!

EduRooms, Rooms, EUSD App

As you already know, we are preparing to make the switch from Class Dojo, to using the EUSD app (also known as Rooms) as our main platform for communication. We understand some families are having challenges making the switch. To help facilitate this matter, Mrs. Sima will continue to support families and troubleshoot connectivity issues. Feel free to come and ask any questions you may have at asima@eusd.org or contact the front office.

Enrichment Programs

Running Club

RUNNING CLUB is back next week! Our primary grades - 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, will run on Monday and Wednesday mornings and our intermediate grades, 4th, 5th, and 6th will run on Tuesday and Fridays from 7:35 - 7:50. Anyone can join, and all you need to do is show up early, and start running!

Dance Crew

DANCE CREW is back and will soon be accepting APPLICATIONS. Students who are interested in DANCE CREW must submit an application to COACH E., stating why they are a good candidate to join DANCE CREW! Anyone who decided to apply for Dance Crew should know that they will be REQUIRED to perform a dance several times throughout the year during our College and Crew celebrations, as well as the Escondido smART Festival. Spots are limited, so turn in your applications soon!

Lunch League

Another exciting opportunity for sports is coming. Coach E will be organizing LUNCH LEAGUE for 4th, 5th, and 6th graders, listen up! This is a competitive sport and games club for students looking to team up and play against other teams during lunch in a competitive Tournament! The first sport will be…BASKETBALL! Find a team, up to 7 people, and write your names on the sign-up sheet that will be posted on the outside wall of the portable bathroom. Sign-up quickly because spots are limited! But don’t worry, there will be a different sport tournament every 4 weeks, so stay tuned for an announcement for when the next LUNCH LEAGUE starts!
