Greetings Conway Families,

This week flew by. We had an incredible turnout for our TK and K orientation on Monday night. On Tuesday we were excited to bring back our tradition of a Clap-In for our learners. The joy and excitement was evident in our learners eyes and smiling faces. PTA created a wonderful welcome message and invited parents to get involved and offered EPIC contracts to our youngest learners at our orientation.

Next week our College and Crew celebration returns on Thursday at 8:00am. This is where school-wide Crew spirit shines. PE and exploratory rotations also begin, so make sure to check with your teacher on the day of the week your learner will have PE and either STEM, art, library tech, or mindfulness. Some of our student leadership crews will begin to meet and lead. Stay tuned for those events.

Rooms Update

Many of our families are asking about getting registered for Rooms. As expected, there’s frustration for some and we want to do our best to minimize this. The district will be sending several rounds of invites to families that haven’t activated their Rooms accounts. Guardian invites are sent in four intervals. After the first invite, there is a reminder at three days, seven days, and 14 days. Teachers are registering in rooms so they can support our families. Here’s a family guide that provides instructions for completing the setup of your accounts in Rooms. Our office manager, Mr. Carlos and Mrs. Sima were granted with permissions in ThrillShare Campus Management to be able to support families as needed. Please reach out if you need support.

We are planning to schedule two family workshops, one in person and one virtual this next week to support all our families. Stay tuned for details.

There’s a bug in Rooms that affects iPhone users from being able to see an entire announcement made by teachers. Families can still view the full announcement by accessing Rooms at edurooms.com. A fix will be available next week and the app will update on iPhones automatically if auto-updates have been allowed on phones.

Once you have set up your Rooms account through the invitation, you can log in to Rooms in the EUSD app on your mobile device or go to edurooms.com on a computer to log in. We will persevere through this!

Incentives/Traditions/Crew

Our Conway Cougar Store returns next week. This is a great way to recognize our learner’s EPIC choices and alignment to our EPIC norms. One way we keep the Cougar Store stocked with fresh new items is through our Conway Wishlist on Amazon.com. We try to keep it up to date by listening to our students. Next time you are on the Amazon website, take a second to see what items students have requested. You might just make a student's day extra special.

Crew circles return day one. Students feel seen, heard, and valued. Crew deepens student skills and mindsets for academic and life success, and equips them to contribute to a better world. We are crew not passengers. #crewspirit

Breakfast, Snack, Lunch Schedule

This year breakfast is being offered to all TK through 6th grade students before school begins.

Students can bring a snack to eat during their morning recess. This should be a small portion or fruit to be eaten quickly so students can play.

The lunch schedule can be found on our website or see the schedule below. This week we had to adjust and understand that lunch procedures were a little slow. We now have over 130 TK and kindergarten students getting lunch. This did slow things down but I am confident it will continue to improve everyday. Our youngest students will continue to be supported by our teachers, NTS, and staff.

Conway Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

Drivers must comply with designated school drop-off/pick-up and parking procedures.

Drop-Off Procedures

When dropping your student off via car, please pull your car up as far as possible at the front curb of the school.
Do not get out of your car while in this drop off line. Students should exit from the passenger side of the car ONLY. If you need to assist your child in leaving the car, please find a parking spot on the street, and assist your student by walking them up to the main entrance. If crossing the street, USE THE CROSSWALK!
Handicap parking is available in the south parking lot in the event that you need to enter the building for any reason. Students must be escorted at all times when walking through any parking lot.
There is NO student pick-up or drop-off allowed in any of our lots. NO CARS WILL BE ALLOWED TO DROP OFF IN THE PARKING LOTS.

Arrival and dismissal safety is of utmost importance. Please review the map linked here and details about our 2020-23 procedures. Kindergarten and TK students must be picked up with identification at the playground and TK at the front gate.

PTA hosts popsicle sales every Friday after school. This is one of Conway PTA Fundraisers. All items sold are only $1. This is a perfect way to treat your child for an EPIC end of the school week. Cash only. Exact change is greatly appreciated. Popsicles are sold in front of room 1.
