Principal update #15

As an Expeditionary Learning School, our model encourages our students to be change makers by acts of consequential service to others. Our W.H.O. (We Help Others) Crew does just that. This month the students led the SOCKTOBER drive. They successfully collected 391 socks to be donated to Interfaith and help others in need. They learn to communicate clearly and present their ideas effectively. This is a wonderful example of how students are preparing themselves with the attitudes and skills to learn from and be of service to others. This practice is deeply connected to our EUSD Framework for the Future especially how they are ETHICAL SCHOLARS by finding opportunities to make a positive impact on their community. We are especially grateful for our WHO crew led by Mrs. Brumback.

During the Thanksgiving season, when we traditionally take time to give thanks, I write to express my personal gratitude. Thank you to our parents and guardians for having trusting Conway Academy and for sharing your beautiful children. Thank you for your commitment to ensuring their success and our success.

Thank you to those who engage through strong community service and partnerships. Your support for our schools brings opportunities that take us beyond our means. Groups such as but not limited to our PTAs, Oasis Tutors, YMCA, SSC, ELAC, and the many volunteers provide personal time, commitment, and support throughout the year.
Thank you to our school Staff CREW for the commitment that you make every day to the our learners. I am grateful for your dedication to our school's mission and vision everyday. You are all striving to meet every EPIC goal that we've set this year. Thank you for your ongoing flexibility, professionalism and talents.

We are in this together and believe, We Are Crew, not passengers.
