In EUSD, every student is empowered to gain hands-on experience and discover their unlimited potential. This week after school enrichment programs were launched. Students are excited by the possibilities of experiencing ceramics, fine arts, Lego robotics, ballet folklorico, theater, soccer, sewing, EPIC leadership (ASB), environmental stewards (green crew), and learn to spread peace and joy as peer mediators (Peace patrol). There are still a few openings in Peace patrol and green crew, please inquire in the office. These extended learning experiences foster discovery, curiosity, and confidence as they acquire new skills.

Make sure to schedule your appointment with your classroom teacher. This is a powerful learner centered practice that calls for the student (k-6th) to lead their conference. Learn more about this practice by reading more on the EL Education site - Kinder SLC video
In the Expeditionary Learning model, teachers focus on teaching reading in all content areas so that our learners build knowledge of the world and make sense of content by reading, thinking, talking, and writing about compelling topics. Our teachers also provide many opportunities for learners to read for joy, to satisfy innate curiosity, to revel in the pleasure of creative language, and to be transformed by interaction with other readers and writers.
We thank you for entrusting us with your student, but more than ever, we are excited about our future to achieve more than we thought possible.

Coffee with the Principal
Our first coffee with the principal is coming this week. Join us in the MPR for a casual conversation about our EPIC school. This is a great opportunity to connect with our community, listen to ideas, discuss areas for improvement, and build community. In honor of Hispanic heritage month, this month we will indulge in chocolate y churros. Hope to see you there.
Family Day at Lunch
We are thrilled to bring back this special day to our families. Throughout the year, we will invite two grade levels at a time to join your learner for lunch. You can bring your student lunch or purchase lunch from our cafeteria. We ask that families pre-register for this event. A link will be sent out this week. We hope to end the year with a family picnic for all grades in May. This month we will host TK and 6th grade families.
Conway Jog-A-thon
We are so excited to announce that Conway Academy of Expeditionary Learning’s Annual Jog-A-Thon will be held on Wednesday, October 4th. This event is the PTA’s biggest student involved fundraiser, with the money helping to support our school. On Jog-A-Thon day, students have the opportunity to run, walk, or skip as many laps as they can complete in 20 minutes. Please consider sponsoring your student on a per lap basis, or with a flat donation. Prizes pictured will be awarded to 5 individual students with the most money raised. Students will turn in collected pledged money between October 5th and 20th. Please make checks payable to Conway Academy PTA or scan QR code for online donations. Rooms update
Staying connected with our schooll is an essential component of student success. The EUSD mobile app has been updated with new features, including behavior progress and notes from teachers. Check out this brief video to learn about the updated user experience. The app update will also help with users who are having trouble signing in. To ensure that you have the updated version, go to your device’s app store, look up “EUSD Escondido CA,” and click the Update button; if users only see Open, they already have the latest version. Users also may delete and reinstall the app to get the update.
