Greetings Conway Community,
I would like to officially welcome you to our E.P.I.C school. We are eager to get the 2023-24 school year started. Our vision, All learners discover their unlimited potential through excellence, perseverance, integrity, and compassion is at the core of our educational program. Students align character and scholarly goals to the E.P.I.C (excellence, perseverance, integrity, and compassion) habits and the three dimensions of learning - Mastery of Knowledge of skills, character, and high quality work. Our mission is to create classrooms alive with inquiry, so our EPIC learners feel empowered to achieve more than thought possible and to make the world a better place.
Our very own student ambassadors, Stella, Alejandro, Zander, Dulce, Anthony, and Olive opened the EUSD kick-off event on Friday at the Center for the Arts Escondido. These students truly ROCKED the house charging every single EUSD employee to get up on their feet and stomp to the beat. The energy and EUSD spirit was dynamic and validated that, “this is us, EUSD”.
Conway Academy is a specialty school and the first Expeditionary Learning Credentialed school in Southern California Conway embraced the nationally-recognized research-based EL Education model in 2016 and has achieved remarkable results. El Education was born 25 years ago through the collaboration of the Harvard Graduate School of Education and Outward Board. The model focuses on ensuring that all students master rigorous content, develop positive character, and produce high quality work.
Conway is truly a community where parents, teachers, and students work together to build positive relationships that support and inspire academic and social growth for all. In fact, we are all learners and only together can we create the kind of school our community and learners deserve. Together we strive to ensure each learner feels safe, valued, and empowered to achieve more than they thought possible.
Classroom lists will be available by the end of day Monday. Please be sure to register your student in order to see them on their teacher list. ALL RETURNING STUDENTS must be registered before they can be added to a classroom list. Classroom lists will be posted outside of the school office by 4:00 pm on Monday, August 14th, and are also viewable in the parent PowerSchool account as well as the EUSD Rooms app. The EUSD Rooms app is available for download on both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.
Safety is our priority for all of us. Our school campus opens at 7:30am. There is NO student supervision in the morning. Students arriving prior to 7:30 am wait outside the front gate. NTS staff will monitor the front campus beginning at 7:30 am until the gate opens at 7:35 am for students to proceed to breakfast, the library, or the blue lunch tables only. Students arriving before 7:00 am are welcome to participate in the ASES morning program available at no cost to our families beginning at 6:30am. Applications are available at the front office.
Our motto is We are Crew not Passengers. Crew is the heart and spirit of our school. We understand, CREW begins with each one of us first. Our Crew, the EPIC teachers, commit to model and teach our students that CREW is US, not me, and we do the hard work together. We are beyond excited for you to be a part of our Conway Crew this year.
Our children are our greatest investment for a bright future. You see, by working together, WE can provide the most positive and effective educational experience for your learners here at Conway. We are a Conway Crew!
