Week 38 - May 21st, 2023
As an EL Education school it is important that students develop the skills and mindsets to become effective learners. Classroom teachers foster independence and support our learners to develop the mindsets and skills for success in college, career, and life. They learn to take initiative, responsibility, perseverance, and become effective collaborators. As we approach the end of this school year, our community will have the opportunity to celebrate the learning and experience more than just the academic achievement of our scholars and EPIC active citizens, you will experience this through our EPIC awards when we take the time to lift up our EPIC scholars and citizens. But we are most excited for this week is our Celebration of learning on Thursday. Please read the COL letter sent home a few weeks ago. EVERY single learner will present their learning at this remarkable event.
Our EPIC PTA goes above and beyond for our school. They have brought so many programs, supported our awards, celebrations, and our teachers. This week they hosted an all Conway Crew luncheon from Chicken Plus in appreciation for our crew. We couldn’t do this without all their support. On May 31, 2023, join us for PTA, SSC, and ELAC elections to establish these crucial parent leadership committees in preparation for the 2023-24school year.
This week we were thrilled to appreciate ALL our volunteers that gave so much of their time to support our students, programs, field work, and classrooms. It was our pleasure honoring you all at our EPIC volunteer breakfast. Several classes entertained our volunteers with their beautiful songs. Listen to Ms. Rico’s crew sing “Glorious”.
This week we ask for your support in recognizing the efforts of our classified crew.
I am grateful for the opportunity to inspire students to discover their unlimited potential through Excellence, Perseverance, Integrity, and Compassion. Together we are creating an EPIC school. Here is another example of our EPIC Crews.
We are in this together and believe, We Are Crew, not passengers.
In Crew,
Principal Meglich

Conway Band Concert
It was great to have families on campus this past week. Band students put on three shows in one day. We look forward to continuing this very important music program at Conway. Thank you Mr. Johnson for your support and teaching of music.
College & Crew Celebration 8:00 am- 5/25/23
Parents, you are invited to join us this week but you will need to check in the front office for this week’s College and Crew Celebration. Students are recognized for EPIC scholarly, active citizen, and athletic achievement.
Popsicles with the Principal
Friday we ended the week celebrating students that have been showing what EPIC looks like and sounds like around campus. Students were nominated by their teachers or they were selected from our hopper where students drop their cougar paws.
