Conway Community News - Week 37

Week 37 - May 14th, 2023

As an EL Education school it is important that the physical space of the school reflects and supports the learning environment and the values of our EPIC school.  When people enter the school, they are immediately aware of being in a space that celebrates learning.  The walls are filled with high-quality work showcased in common spaces inside and outside our buildings.  It is a goal that student achievement is honored in public spaces, whether it is academic, artistic, athletic, or a demonstration of good character.  As we approach the end of this school year, our community will have the opportunity to celebrate the learning and experience more than just the academic achievement of our scholar and EPIC active citizens, you will experience the transformation of spaces that keep the school as beautiful as possible.  The mission of Conway Academy is evident throughout our EPIC school.

Last Sunday our Girls on the Run participated in the 5k event at De Anza Cove.  Our teacher coaches have been meeting and training with our girls in preparation for this incredible event.  Thank you to Lana Brady, Lori Cisterna, Coach E, Xochtil Maldonado and all our Conway Crew that supported this program.  And thank you to all the families that joined us to cheer our girls on.  We look forward to bringing this back next year!

Our last den of the year was EPIC!  This mulitiage crew meets once a month and participates in team building activities, CREW, and building a sense of community.  Students remain with their same den and den leader throughout their time at Conway.  This den meeting focused on friendship and saying goodbye to our 5th and 6th graders that will move on to middle school.

Save the date! EPIC awards are coming to Conway. Teachers will send invitations for students receiving awards. All 5th grader families are invited to attend.

I am  grateful for the opportunity to inspire students to discover their unlimited potential through Excellence, Perseverance, Integrity, and Compassion.  Together we are creating an EPIC school.  Here is another example of our EPIC Crews.

We are in this together and believe, We Are Crew, not passengers.

In Crew,

Principal Meglich
